The Founder + CEO of DeliverLean
Scott Harris is the founder and CEO of DeliverLean, a national industry leader in quality food manufacturing. Harris launched DeliverLean in 2011 as a boutique meal delivery service serving South Florida. Harris now leads a team of over 300 employees that produces over 10 million meals a year for leading grocery stores, airports, hospitals, health insurance companies, and disaster relief efforts.
Leadership Style
Harris employs an empathetic and human-first leadership style that enables the company to break food manufacturing records by producing convenient, healthy and affordable meals made with clean, traceable ingredients without sacrificing quality or taste.
Harris directs growth strategy and innovation of the DeliverLean portfolio, which spans two divisions: GRBNGO and DeliverLean CARE. Under his leadership, the company has disrupted the traditional grab-and-go market by focusing on quality, flavor, and food safety first.
Harris’ life-long mission is to bridge the gap between quality food and positive health outcomes. In 2020, he took a major step in this direction by launching DeliverLean CARE, the first of its kind plan that provides medically-tailored meals to healthcare patients in partnership with Humana and CarePlus Health Plans.
In 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Harris and the DeliverLean team met the crisis with empathy and outreach. Harris launched the DeliverLean Foundation, a philanthropic division that feeds families and individuals in need. He has donated over 500,000 meals during crises, including the pandemic and natural disasters.
The culmination of nearly a decade of hard work, DeliverLean has adopted a 360-degree approach to wellness by reaching consumers, wholesale partners, healthcare institutions, and businesses. In 2021, DeliverLean was named No.607 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America. Harris’ impressive leadership track record has earned him the title of Endeavor Global Entrepreneur in 2014.
He was also an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in 2015. He has been profiled in Fast Company and the Wall Street Journal. As a respected thought leader, Harris gives back by mentoring emerging entrepreneurs and is a regular health and wellness speaker at conferences throughout the country.
